As with all CensusScope maps, you can also click on a state in the map below. ![]() The percent of people aged 65 and over living in group quarters is highest in the Great Plains region where the aging population makes up a more significant percent of the population. Florida is a notable exception. There is a high percent of aged persons living in Florida, yet the proportion of persons in group quarters is low compared to the Great Plains.
